Has Garmin Given up on the Edge 200?

I have been off the road for over a year but now I find that trying to download routes from Garmin Connect to my Edge 200 so frustrating. I have created two shortish routes which have distinctly different names. However, when I sync with my 200, only one of the courses downloads. If I then tell Garmin Connect to download the other one, it just overwrites the first one. Am I right in thinking the Edge 200, which served me well over a year ago, is no longer cool enough to support?

I am sorry that you are having trouble sending courses to your Edge 200. We did have a case open for this issue but it should now be resolved. I just tested my Edge 200 on both a PC and a Mac and was able to send multiple courses to the device. If you are still having trouble, please make sure that your software is up to date. You can check for software updates by installing Garmin Express. If you are not already using Garmin Express you can download it here:

You might also clean out a couple of folders on the Edge 200, essentially making sure there's no corrupt data on the device causing trouble. This will delete the one Course you have on it.

    1. Open the Garmin drive in Finder
    2. Open the Garmin folder
    3. Open the New Files folder
    4. Trash any files in the New Files folder
    5. Go back to the Garmin folder
    6. Open the Courses folder
    7. Trash any files in the Courses folder
    8. Empty the Trash on the Mac

Return to Connect Modern view and send a couple of Courses from the Courses menu on the left. We don't want to use Classic view for our purposes. Express should open and send the files to the New Files folder on the Edge. Eject and disconnect the Edge from the Mac. The Edge processes the items in the New Files folder when it powers up. The Courses should show up in the Courses menu on the device. If they do not, connect the Edge and check the two folders again. I can also suggest that you recreate the Courses in Connect from scratch or from an existing activity and try again. I have seen courses that were created years ago have trouble sending to the device. Of course, follow Jason's suggestions first, all of this is secondary if the software's not up to date.

Let us know if you continue to have trouble.
