Duplicate entries in Garmin Connect after using Garmin Express

Hi,

Recently, I moved to using the new version of the Garmin Connect website. When prompted, I also installed Garmin Express, and started to use it to sync my Forerunner 205 instead of the old system.

However, Garmin Express blindly uploaded ALL of the old activities which were on my Forerunner, and not just the new ones. Now I have hundreds of duplicate activities in my Garmin Connect account (I've been using it since at least 2009).

I can't see any way to batch delete the duplicates. Any suggestions? I don't want to spend ages having to manually deleting each duplicate entry!

Thanks for your help,

David

I am sorry about the inconvenience. I am not sure how this occured but it appears that somehow the original entries are showing that they came from a Forerunner 305 and the new entries show your Forerunner 205. Since the activities didn't match, they were uploaded again. You can delete multiple activities from Garmin Connect at once from the Activities page:
    • Log in to connect.garmin.com
    • Click Menu (three horizontal lines in upper left corner)
    • Click Activities
    • Check the activities that you would like to delete
    • Click Delete

Unfortunately, you will need to do this page by page. I would strongly recommend deleting old activities off of the watch after they are uploaded to Garmin Connect.

    Thanks Jason.

That's odd the original entries showed they came from a 305, because I only ever had a 205.

I have gone ahead and done what you suggested. I was able to sort my list of activities by name, which grouped all the "untitled" ones, and allowed me to delete them a page at a time, which was actually a quick enough process.

I think I will also delete my old activities from the watch next time I sync to prevent such a reoccurrence.

    Thanks for your help,

    David
