HELP! European Maps nuvi 2557LMT

Hi There,

I bought a nuvi 2557LMT from the states earlier in the year. I live over in the UK and im trying to put UK/european maps onto my device. The UX of the whole process is mind-numbingly frustrating!! Can anyone tell me simply how I can do this?

Most likely your device is preloaded with US maps, your lifetime map updates there for only update the US maps.

if u want to add the UK mapping u need to buy the maps tru your Garmin account as a download or preloaded SD card.

Your device came with North America preloaded. In order to add City Navigator Europe NT maps you would need to purchase them. Please see the information in the FAQ: Should I purchase mapping for my GPS on a disc, pre-programmed datacard, or as downloadable content?

In your position I'd simply go and buy another satnav. The price of adding first EU mapping and then buying lifetime updates would be in the order of £80 to £100 depending on what exactly you bought and from where. You still wouldn't have traffic or any 'premium' features, eg junction view. Agreed if all the OP wants is maps for UK with no traffic, lifetime updates, junction view etc ... and simplest as well as cheapest. It's not a route (pardon the pun) I would choose though.
