Trouble with device software update Garmin Express Mac with nuvi 2599

Hello all,

Just got me a new nuvi 2599 - like it so far, but having trouble with the V5.30 device software update - all of the other updates have worked (maps, firmware etc, about 13 of them), but this one is not having it - it gets to 100% downloaded, then tries again, but fails. I'm new to Garmin devices, so does this sort of thing happen every now and then, i.e. should I just be patient and try again in a day or two? Have tried the support suggestions, i.e. removing and re-adding the device etc. to no avail.

  • I'm having the same problem, I cannot install Version 5.30, even though it loads 100% (“There was a problem communicating with the Garmin servers. Please try again later.”).

    Actually I'm having some problems with this particular device, I am not getting any vocal turn-by-turn directions when navigating, just maybe the first two messages, then it stops. I was hoping that this update would alleviate the problem, but it seems to have its bugs, too. Also: my current software version is 3.50 - what ever happened to the other updates, like 4.0?
