garmin express saying device connection required

garmin express saying device connection required yet my nuvi 54 is connected to mac i have changed the leads and switched on and off but no joy so can not update maps

    Today I used my PC at work and was able to access Garmin Express, delete my old Vivosmart and add my new one. I didn't have any problems logging in. But I am unable to do this via my Macbook Pro.

    It sounds like you might be having issues with either cookies, or with keychain access:
    Cookies:
    • Open Safari
    • Click Safari from the menu list
    • Click Preferences
    • Click Privacy
    • Select Always allow*

    *Note: You can also try Allow from websites I visit.

    Keychain:
    • Click the Spotlight icon(Magnifying glass) at the top right of the screen
    • Type keychain
    • Press return
    • Delete any items in login and local items that say Connect


    Once that is done try again and let us know the results.
