Garmin Express won't sync my Garmin Swim

Starting last week my Swim will no longer sync. If I click Sync Now it says it synced, but no Activities show up on Garmin Connect. In my Activity Monitor the Garmin Express Service runs steady but the Garmin Express app pops in and out like it starts then quits. I deleted the device, uninstalled the Garmin Express software, removed the Ant device and rebooted my system. I then loaded the Garmin Express software and inserted the Ant device. I made sure my Swim was on and it detected the device and reloaded it fine. Said it synced the data but no Activities. I see this is becoming a regular problem for various Garmin devices since the new Express was released. I liked everything better the old way. You know, the old way that worked.
  • AZDESERTDAWG, Did you record any new activities after the initial sync took place and then try to sync with Garmin Express again? Also please check the date / time of your activities in your Connect account as it's possible the date / time could be wrong and need to be corrected manually within Connect. Do you get any specific errors while trying to sync in Garmin Express?

    AZDESERTDAWG, Did you record any new activities after the initial sync took place and then try to sync with Garmin Express again?     Yes, I've recorded new activities and synced. Everything been working fine since your fix. I checked all the entries in Connect and the missing activities are not in the list anywhere. I also followed your instructions to import them manually and that failed to bring the missing activities over as well.

    There are still 2 activities on my device that do not/will not transfer to Connect either via Express sync or manual import.

    I just figure they are lost forever and will eventually get overridden when memory on the Swim cycles with age.

    I am sorry for the troubles. It sounds like the two activities in question have some corrupt data in them. You will definitely want to go ahead and delete the activity files from the device. The device shouldn't ever be so full that the data is allowed to write over itself. Keeping no more than a months worth of activities on the device at any one time is best.

    I'm experiencing kind of the same problem.
    Last Monday, September 29, I've done a swim and it synced just fine.
    Then I did a swim on thursday, October 2, and one today, October 3. Garmin Express started syncing, my Forerunner 910XT display was showing a sync upload bar.
    After the sync I logged into my Garmin Connect and the last two swims are not showing in my activities.
    As I look at my device window in GC it reads "Sync: [email protected]

    When I go to my history in my forerunner 910XT, the two swims are there and seem to be fine as I can read them.
    Also on my Mac the Fit files are showing in my library

    Another strange thing is that the two swims are showing in my activities on my Strava account.
    I have my Strava account syncing automatically with my Garmin Connect account. So it seems that the files were uploaded, but just don't show up in the activities on GC.

    Same problem, but the swim activity is recorded in TrainingPeaks and Strava. Data is not corrupt. Something is wrong with GarminConnect.

    Same problem - my swim is in Strava and TP and My Fitness Pal but not connect
  • We are currently experiencing an issue with syncing pool swim activities with Garmin Connect and are working to resolve the issue. I appologize for any inconvenience that this has caused.

    Ok, thanks Jason. I have the same issue, and the swim activities were synced on Strava.

    Besides, Total distance report from Garmin Connect is not working properly. The total distance has skyrocketed.

    Hi,
    I'm experiencing similar issues with my SWIM watch. It won't sync using Express, simply gives the message 'There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect'.
    But…
    If I click refresh (on Express) it uploads the data to Connect.
    Is there a solution out there?
