Update download problem (UK)

I recently ordered an update for my North American maps on my nuvi 255W sat nav (1C6279491) but I am don't seem to be able to download it.

No update shows up on Garmin Express, in fact my North American maps do not appear at all on there. Currently my Europe maps are stored on the nuvi itself and my North American maps are on a 16 Gb SD card installed in the unit.

I would be grateful if you could assist me with this as I am shortly going to be setting out for a holiday in the USA.

Was it an update or a new mapset? Unless you bought the original US maps on a DVD they are not updateable.

I have looked into your myGarmin account and I do show that you have purchased a Onetime Map update of North America. The problem is you do not own any North American maps to update. The Nuvi 255W that you have registered in your account is a Europe device and has preloaded mapping of Europe. As SUSSAMB has indicated you will need to purchase a Full version North American Map on DVD and have these maps unlocked or licensed to your 255W. Once that has happened you can then purchase updates or North America for your device. You may want to contact support to see about possible credit. Since you are located in Europe.
