Critical: Garmin Express crashes and deletes synced activities

I've set Garmin Express to delete activities on my 910xt after syncing, but this doesn't seem like a good idea: Several times Garmin Express has tried syncing, but crashes in the process. It deletes the activity on the 910xt without actually syncing, so the activity it tried to sync is lost forever.

Unfortunately I was not able to duplicate the crash on my 10.9.4 Mac. The crash report indicates an Network issue rather than an issue with Express or the device. I recommend bypassing any wireless routers in your Home Network and connecting directly to the Cable or DSL modem.

Has Garmin Express ever worked as expected from the current Mac and location?

    Curt
  • Hi, thanks for the swift reply!

Yes, it has worked for me several times on the same network and location. The crashes happended when syncing immediately after waking up the computer.

Before I enabled the "delete after syncing" option, I could just re-start Garmin Express and re-try the syncing. Then it worked fine.

Anyway, no application should crash and delete customer data when encountering a network problem. It should preserve the data and fail gracefully with an error message and/or retry the sync.
  • Ok, this error is now pissing me off. My NEW Edge 510 and Forerunner 220 ARE NEVER ABLE to SYNC.
Its' been week now. No reply from Garmin, useless answers in all the forums. Garmin, you have two choices:
    1. Make it work, or
    2. give me my money back
