Garmin 310xt 'Sync Failed. Sorry we couldn't sync your device…'

Hi there,

Since updating to the new Garmin Express version 3.2.16.0, whenever I try syncing my new activities after 2 minutes or so I get the Message 'Sync Failed. Sorry we couldn't sync your device. Please try again'.

I tried clicking on the 'View Errors' button in the Garmin Express window but nothing comes up.

I've tried all the usual; un-pairing and re-pairing device; Reinstalling Garmin Express.

No Change

I'm running an 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Due IMac on OS X Version 10.7.5 (Lion).

Please help. :)

  • Have you tried deleting your device from Express then reassociating it?
  • If you have done all of that, we will need to reset the device:
    http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={acd36fa0-7ac5-11e2-65d0-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

Once that is done, create a test 10 second workout on the device and attempt to upload again.

    Hi Albert,

Yes, I've tried deleting the device from Garmin Connect and re-pairing it. I still get the same message.

I could reset my device if you're confident that could be the issue though I have 6 workouts that I'd lose. Is there any other way or could I somehow exact the workouts through another service before attempting the reset?

    Cheers,

    Adam

Do you have any items that you are trying to send from Connect to the device? If so, login to Connect and remove any items under the Sync menu then try again. Use the Transfer All menu on the watch to attempt the Sync. Menu-->History-->Transfer All to force the watch to send all the activities to Express again.
