I have tried all 3 USB ports on the Mac computer.
The Mac does not recognize the device unless it is first placed into Diagnostics mode, but then BaseCamp, Webupdater or Express still do not see the device. A System Report on the Mac shows the Garmin as a Vendor-Specific Device, but it does not appear in the Finder.
Two other problems I have noted with the device:
1) It will not save waypoints that are entered.
2) A system reset using the device's menu or a master reset by pressing Page and Enter while powering the device on have no effect -- everything remains the same on the device.
These problems seem to have started after transferring data between BaseCamp and the device.
I tried to connect to another computer (a PC) and it sees the device but Webupdater does not work saying the file is corrupted.
Currently the device has Software Version 5.40. The Diagnostics screen shows the BMap Chk as 0x476EC0B1 and the PMap Ckk is 0x1232EDCA.
Any advice on how I can connect my device to my Mac computer is greatly appreciated -- I need the device for my work.
