problems with downloads.

I bought a garmin map of Europe and I am unable to update as the download stopped at 25%, I also had to restart the computer and navigation system. Downloading 25% took more than 3 hours. When I tried to restart it the navigation system indicated that I could not get the map, saying that I have insufficient memory. I have a nevi 50LM. Can anyone help?
I don't ever get slow downloads, but clearly it depends on your ISPs download speed and to some extent your system. The quickest way to download is to create a clone of your nuvi on a USB stick or sd card and download directly to that. Then copy the map files across.
In your case, and given you need to download to a card anyway (?), I'd do the following. Create a clone of your nuvi. To do this on the micro sd card that you plan to use create a Garmin folder and copy GarminDevice.xml from the Garmin folder on your nuvi to the Garmin folder on the card. Now connect the card to your mac.
Now run the map download, and it should download to the card. Once there delete the .xml file from the card and insert the card into your nuvi. The map should then be available.
I have checked the servers for the map update 2015.10 on a Mac and the download proceeds as intended. The download will take some time as it is not a small file. I have tested the download and it will be around 1-2 hours. If doing the update on a 50LM you may need a SD card see FAQ: Can I load maps directly to an SD card during a map update?
