Approach G6 map update failed

Hey there
Just tried to update my Pacific maps from 3.30 to 3.40 and get a failed message.
"Express cannot build the map. Please clear the contents of the temporary folder and retry the update. If the problem persists, please contact support"

I am on a Mac using OS X 10.9.4 and Garmin Express 3.30.

Where is the temporary folder the message relates to? Is it ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Garmin Map Update/tmp? If so, there is nothing in there.
If it means on the G6 itself, then whereabouts?

How can I get the map updated?

    Having the same issue with S4

    Experiencing the same exact issue with S4; have had 3 successful updates so far, then started receiving this message; I contacted support; they suggested that I remove the S4 from Garmin Express & retry; continue to have the same issue.

    Please help us!

  • How much space do you have on the HD? Express requires up to 13GB of free space. Also, please follow the instructions in the article: http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={8a5f1480-ddf1-11e2-7dd9-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

    Loaded 3.40 now - I used Garmin CourseView Updater - very quick - and checked that 3.40 is loaded OK
  • CourseView Australia & N.Z. v3.40 is currently being looked at. I was able to duplicate the issue that was described in this thread. The Express team is working to get this corrected and it should be fixed very soon.

    Exactly the same problem with my Approach S1. Tried with both Mac and PC. Contacted support a week ago, emailed some logs and haven't heard anything since. Hope it's fixed soon, my S1 is practically useless at my new course.
  • I got round this by updating the maps from my work laptop running Windows.
    Though I have just done an Express update on the mac, I haven't needed to try any more map updates.
    Hopefully, it's all good now.

    Has anyone had success with this problem?
    Last communication from support was "we are aware of this issue & we're working on a resolution"

  • We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, the Courseview Australia download was indeed broken and has since been fixed. Would you all please attempt the update again, using Garmin Express.
