Garmin Express "sees" the update, but I can't

Today I bought a one-time update to my Europe map for my Nuvi 370. After three hours, the map appears to have been downloaded via Garmin Express. However, when I turn on the 370 and go to Maps/Map Info, only the old North America map shows up. Not only does the new update map not show up, but the old Europe map has disappeared.

When I open Garmin Express, it says that the Western Europe 2014.40 map is up-to-date so it appears that it sees it on the 370. Unfortunately, I can't.

Is there a way to tell the 370 that there's an updated map on the SD card to use?

Leaving for Europe on 7/11 so I'm desperate. So far, it's been a big mistake to update the map. At this point, I'd be happy in just getting the 2008 Europe map back.

Thanks,

Cliff

If the City Navigator Europe NT 2014.40 maps do not show up on the Map Info screen then there was an issue with the installation. Garmin Express can only determine that the update had been attempted and the unlock code for the map was generated, at this point it cannot determine if a valid set of files were installed on the device. You will need to reinstall the maps on the Nuvi. If you have an SD card in the device please remove it until the map update is complete and verified on the Map Info screen. See the FAQ: How do I reinstall maps or change coverage using Garmin Express?

    Thanks, Curt.

When I first tried to download the map update today, it said that I didn't have enough memory for any map. So, I went out and bought a 8 GB SD card. I put it in and I was able to get it start downloading the 3 GB Western Europe map. If I do as you suggest, and remove the SD card, I fear that I'll get the same insufficient memory message.

Can I download the files to my computer and use the old system? People seem to have more success with that. Is there any way to get the old 2008 Europe map reinstalled? I'm desperate

  • The Nuvi 370 isn't supported by the SD card feature in Garmin Express. You can use the information in the FAQ: What do I do if my device doesn't support the SD card feature during the Garmin Express map update? to get the left over Europe maps installed on the SD card.
