I think Garmin have had the last of my money

Hi all just thought I would let people know my feeling after the map update fiasco with my 3490LMT my mates 3490LMT has been updated via
Express to map 2015.10 no problems but when I connect my 3490LMT to express nothing not even old installed map shows only software
So I got in touch with Garmin after a few emails back and forwards they asked me to send Express log and XML file then I get a email from Garmin saying update available for my device but still nothing on express then I get a email from Garmin saying the reason I cannot get the new map is it is not available yet for my device.
If that is not a cop out then I don't know what is,I don't know if anybody at Garmin looks at this forum or not but I hope they do and look at this as I am very disappointed as this is meant to be one of the flag ship models.
Admin please pass this on to somebody at Garmin if you can because if it is not sorted out I will not be buying anything from Garmin anymore

  • Which map are you trying to update? If it's CN EU NT rather than the NTU version then the NT maps are now only being updated twice a year, so there is no CN EU NT 2015.10

    Thanks for the reply the map that I should be able to update is europe NTU 2015.10
  • Well that is strange then as 2015.10 is available. Someone from the Express team will need to look into your account and see what's happening, hopefully one will be along shortly.

    I take it you've tried ignoring what you were told and just tried running Express? Note ensure you've updated Express, latest is v3.2.7, and also delete then reassociate your 3490, info on that is here http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={8a5f1480-ddf1-11e2-7dd9-000000000000}&kbName=garmin

    Yes I have done all that and it still only shows software and Garmin have had my express log and XML file
  • Just realised this is not in the Express forum, I'm going to move it there :)

    I am not sure what was going on but I have looked in your myGarmin account and device. I have made an adjustment to the device to the device's mapping there should now be an update available. I have tested the update through Express and it's now offering you a map update to the 2015.10 maps.

    It was a long wait but now I am being shown map update and it is downloading now it just shows that the reply's I got from Garmin via email were wrong but hopefully all sorted now but I think Garmin should train there staff better.
