910XT and Garmin Express can not set up

Had it working all this week and then something changed.

Can not get the watch to the recognised when I am setting up Garmin Express.

Any work arounds? Very frustrating.

    I am having the exact same issue. Cannot get it to talk...I have sent an email to Garmin Help Desk. Will post when I get a r eply. Of course hthey don't man it on the weekend - the exact time when all of us actually are using their system and need the help!!

    There has been no change on Garmin's side that would effect Garmin Express ability to detect the 910XT. The most common cause we run into is that pairing is not enabled on the 910XT when adding the device to Garmin Express. If the 910XT is already paired and has new data to sync, make sure the Lap Reset button is pressed until the 910XT counts back from 3 then try again. View the "More Options" section under the Sync button to see what specific type of data or file is failing. Restart the computer if needed.

  • Many thanks for you help Curt. I can confirm that data pairing is enabled.

    My problem is that device is not detected when i am trying to configure Garmin Express.

    Are you running any Bluetooth devices like a Keyboard or Mouse? Bluetooth devices can interfere with the ANT signals. How long have you had the 910XT? Do you power the device OFF on a regular basis?

    Have had the 910XT for a number of years. Am running a bluetooth keyboard. However can not get my 305 to talk to Garmin Express either so that is not the issue ( I assume). When you ask do you power off the 'device' do you mean the 910XT?

    Every time I try to transfer data from my 910xt via Garmin Express it switches my watch off, anyone else having this issue? This never happen using the old ANT+ communicator. Its getting very frustrating, its taking about 25-30 attempts to get data off my watch.

    This is getting ridiculous now. I have been trying all day to get last nights BRICK session off my watch. I've tried every thing, including removing all garmin software and re-installing, 3 times. Tried disconnecting my watch and reconnecting it to garmin express. Nothing has made any difference, its starts to transfer then either just goes to the normal watch start up screen or turns off without completing the transfer.
  • I have never done a BRICK session and never had the problem you describe If the two are interlinked I do not know. But I do not think I will chance it.
