  • Are you running the latest Express version? If not then update and try again. If you are try the steps here:

    server error message

    I've got exactly the same error message on a brand new windows 8 tablet.. I have the upgraded software, brand new garmin watch.. so the issue is not this end.. as the error message suggests it has to be there servers...

    It was working okay last night though so don't understand why this has occurred tonight?
  • For those having this issue chek this FAQ in case this is your problem, it may not apply to all of you https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={dd8e8b20-ef1e-11e2-7dd9-000000000000}

    If it doesn't help then post back
  • In the last week we have seen some download issues with Express map updates on a Mac. We are looking into this and are working to see what the cause of the problem is. Thank you for the posts and the reporting of this issue. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused but hopefully this will be corrected very soon.

  • At this time we believe we have resolved the issue with the Mac map update download within Express. We have tested the map update and the download is now working properly.

    Thank you

  • Just bought a Nuvi 3597, installed latest version of express on a Mac and am getting the "problem communicating with Garmin servers" error when trying to do the initial load of the maps. There were a number of small installs that appeared to work ok but not the 545Mb map file for Aust and NZ. Then tried it on a windows PC but still didn't work. Also tried the "10 second power reset on the Garmin several times but still no good. Also tried hard wiring a network cable to the modem rather than using wifi... so the problem is NOT fixed. The comment that you need a fast link speed is unacceptable, because some of us live in relatively remote areas and don't always have 500K or greater link speeds.

  • I'm afraid from reading other posts here there is an issue (which Garmin are aware of) when trying to update the Aus & NZ maps to v2015.10.

    My first suggestion is ensure you make a full back up of your nuvi just in case anything goes wrong. Then contact Garmin Australia and say you also have a problem updating your Aus & NZ maps. In the meantime your 3597 will continue to function, and I've rarely seen much difference from one map update to the next.
  • Problem loading V2015.10 Aus NZ maps

    Thanks for the help as I hadn't taken the unit outside so didn't realize it already had maps installed. Just a suggestion, perhaps Garmin should remove V2015.10 as an update until the problem is fixed, as I suspect many others would plug it into a computer first.

    I have the same error message when trying to get garmin express to recognise a newly-bought edge 500 on a new /freshly configured Mac mini. Wired connection. Loads activities ok from a forerunner 610, but won't even recognise the edge 500 and gives me the message about problems with the servers and it will all be ok soon. Can garmin please give an update on where they are with fixing this overall issue as it clearly applies to much more than map uploads.
