Suddenly can't connect Fenix2 to Garmin Express

Garmin Express wanted an update today, so I obliged (to GE 3.1.5.0). Ever since then (and garminconnect.com offering their modern theme), for some reason Garmin Express will no longer connect to/sync with my Fenix 2. I had been connecting to Garmin Express w/o any issue or difficulties. I'm tried rebooting the watch and rebooting the computer, and I still have the problem. I've also deleted it from my Garmin Express program, and it added the watch again, but still won't sync with it. I know I'm getting a good connection to the watch because I can still download workouts from the watch into endomondo, so it strikes me as an issue with Garmin Express.

Can anyone shed some light on what I can do? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I'm on a 13" Macbook Pro (late 2013) w/ Mavericks and no major software/hardware updates that would effect Garmin Express. I've also uninstalled/reinstalled Garmin Express, all to no avail. The watch is on firmware 2.9, but had connected successfully since upgrading to 2.9.
  • Same problem for me : since I updated to the latest version of Garmin Express (3.1.5.0) I can't sync my data of my fenix 2 and Vivofit.

    Both device are well detected by Garmin Express, but it doesn't sync even if I click on the sync button of Garmin Express.

    I also restarted both my watch and my computer (MacBook Pro 13-inch, Late 2013) but it doesn't change anything.
  • Same problem with Garmin Express 3.1.5.0 (OSX 10.9.2) and Forerunner 620, it doesn't sync.
  • When you removed the Fenix2 from Express did you choose to the "Remove from Garmin Connect" option? This option does not delete any activities or data from Connect but may restore the two to Sync when you add the device back to Express.

    How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express?

    I removed the device from Garmin Express and Garmin Connect. Also deleted Garmin Express then reinstalled. This solved the problem yesterday.

    Today the problem came back. I repeated the steps above four times. Garmin Express sees the Fenix 2 and adds it. When I click sync now Garmin Express says 3 items to sync then I get "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect. Sorry we couldn't sync your device. Please try again"

    I'm having similar problems with my Edge 500. It was working fine with Express (OS X 10.9.2) until I was asked to install an update yesterday. can't connect to the edge at all, despite power cycling it, rebooting my machine, uninstalling express and reinstalling it, it just will not detect the edge now.

    Also now s/p Hard reset, figured getting it to work again was worth sacrificing my 40 mile ride and power data from this AM. Still no dice. This update is great!
  • I took my Fenix 1 on a hike yesterday. Got home, put the Fenix in the clip, and it didn't sync with Garmin Connect. It had in the past. I wound up doing a manual upload. Strangely enough, Express (3.1.5 on OS X 10.9.2) did install a new EPO.bin, so it could communicate with the Fenix. Express also hasn't given me any problem with my Edge 800, which syncs normally and automatically when I plug it in. This is the time of year where I use my Fenix once a week or less, and manual uploads still work so it's not a big problem, but it did work before 3.1.5. I haven't checked the logs yet.
  • Express 3.2.3 came out today, and it didn't fix this behavior. It doesn't seem to want to sync my Fenix with GC. It did install a new EPO.bin. Haven't tried the Edge 800 yet.
  • Same issue here. Did remove the Fenix 2 from GC, reset the watch, unconnect and reconnect and it still doesn't work. Actually my run was uploaded but it displays an error. I'm trying to have my heart rates zones sent to the watch and this doesn't work either.
