I recently updated to Garmin Express on my Mac and completed the update on my Edge 500. (I waited when I saw the issues were having on Strava) Since then, my rides upload ok to Garmin Connect via Express....but it hangs if I try to upload directly from Garmin Connect or other party sites...Most specifically Strava. I also tried Beginnertriathlete and it also hangs at about 90%. Other users describe the same issue on their forums. I have worked around the issue by using file export/upload procedure (export .gpx or .tcx file and upload manually to Strava). My 610 works fine...can upload to Garmin Connect, Strave, Beginnertri with no issues. So it seems to be the Edge update.
Reading the Strava forums...seems to be an issue with the new update. Is there a fix, better work around than export/upload or an update to come? I use Garmin Connect for some data/login....but prefer Strava...honestly the extra and unnecessary step fror Strava seems ridiculous. I am sure Garmin has had a significant halo effect ($$$) from Strava. Would be great if the Garmin team would check out compatibility before releasing an update...only sound business...since I am upset with Garmin...not Strava.
