Specified Unit ID is invalid

I installed Garmin Express today, and when trying to add my Edge 500, it finds it, displays the name as Edge 500 TWN, shows the serial number (the same as stamped into the back of the unit), but shows a message that says "The specified Unit ID is invalid." How am I supposed to upload rides to the new Connect if I can't connect my device?
I'm having the same problem with my Forerunner 610. My Edge 500 works fine, but I get the invalid Unit ID message when I try to add the Forerunner. Unit ID is 3859283572, and the Serial # 2T0027843. I contacted Garmin support and got and email asking for more info and telling me to clear my cache. I did all that and responded, but now I haven't heard back.
We have no record in the manufacture date database for this serial number or the unit id. That is extremely rare. Can you double check the unit id please. Get the UnitID from the About menu on the device. Press Setup-->System-->About.
Thank you for the pics. I am checking to see if there is anything we can do with this besides exchange it for you. Where did you purchase the watch? Do you still have the purchase receipt? I should know more tomorrow evening.
I'm having the same issue, xml file ID does not match the number on the back. Stuck in 'loading profiles' despite multiple format and reinstallation of software. Cannot connect to the server as well
