Garmin Express and Snow Leopard (Closed)

I am sorry you are having issues with the Express software installation. If your computer doesn't meet the system requirements you will need to use a different computer.

Here are the minimum system requirements for the Express software:

Mac
Intel-based Mac running OS 10.7 or higher running in 64bit
1024 x 768 display, USB port and 1 GB RAM
High speed Internet access (Not for use with dial-up, mobile or satellite connections)
May require up to 13 GB free disk space

I can't believe that you are gonna make me upgrade my osx.. It was so much better when I could upload my activities through the browser...

what is so special about garmin express that it needs latest operating system?

As your software just acts as a conduit between your servers and the device, why does it need the latest operating system to work when it didn't in the past. Why can't you just use a browser program to do the work or allow us to download the map file in one go to our computers and then install it by a simple piece of software to the device. I used an old version of map updater on snow leopard and funnily enough it installed the newest maps from snow leopard. You must be deliberately blocking this action now as my mate couldn't do the same with the same piece of software. I have a G5 golf gps and 2 x sat navs and wish to update them from my current set up. Come on Garmin sort out your software and make it compatible - express has always caused problems with constant crashes and update failures after hours of downloading. Let us all download via a browser based counduit or some simple piece of software.

This doesn't make any sense, my computer isn't even 5 years old and Garmin Connect won't let me download the software on my Snow Leopard mac computer??? I have never run into this problem before. And on the apple website, I will have to call and pay $20 to update to the Lion software??? So now my watch that I just bought from Garmin isn't going to sync to my only computer that I have??? This is dumb....

Solution - spend $20 and get over yourself! it's a lot better than having to spend hundreds of dollars updating to a Windows version that is supported

I bought a Forerunner 15 a couple of weeks ago and I have the same problem, I have a macbook white with snow leopard and I cannot run garmin express. Please, could somebody help with web browser syncing? I tried using Runtastic web page but after install the plugin it doesn't work, I need some program or anything else?
