Garmin Express error, can not connect to server?

Hi,

Anyone have problem like me?

I have Garmin GPS Watch S4 for Golf.

I'm using MacBook Pro with OS.X 10.9.1

I had download Garmin Express for Mac and Garmin Course Updater, Garmin map install and all other required software.

When I connect the watch to computer, it always show this error:
We're sorry.
There's a problem with our servers, which mean that Express is temporarily unavaiable. We're working as fast as we can to get it back up and running. Please try again.

I had try so many time and different networks but have the same error.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Have spent a few hours trying to resolve this issue with no avail. So frustrating.

Exact same issue with a 310XT. See any solutions?

Same here with my 310XT. Has not worked since I "upgraded" to the new Express software. I still have the old software on my laptop so I have to use that (but even that is quirky).

Same issue here Approach S4. Cannot find device. So typical of Garmin.
  • Stick with ANT Agent for now

I have the 310xt, instead of using the new Garmin Express function, stick with the ANT agent to upload your data untill the new layout of
Garmin Connect is up and running correctly ...

That link only is for Windows users. I have OSX. Any ideas? I got from 28% to 30% in many many attempts... at this rate the update might take a year ;-)
  • Moved this to the Mac Express forum, hopefully you'll get some help here.
  • Although the error messages appear to be the same issue, there are several different issues being described here. In general, updating to the latest version of Garmin Express would be my first suggestion.

    • Open Garmin Express
    • Click Garmin Express in the Apple menu bar
    • Click About Garmin Express
    • Click Check for Application Updates

This will update you to the latest version we have available on the Mac. If you are still having issues after updating:

FGODDIJN - The issue you are having looks like the downloaded Europe map files are not passing verification after downloading to your Mac. This can be due to firewalls, internet security, wireless networks, or intermittent internet connections. I would recommend restarting the Mac and trying a hard-wired Ethernet connection to your modem if you are downloading wirelessly.

GLENNDALANZA, BOOTSDOWD, CHAMATHMAN - The 310XT is compatible with the latest version of Express for Mac. However, the issue you are describing could be a device issue. What is the software version of your watch? To check the version:

    • Power on the Forerunner 310XT
    • Press Mode
    • Go to Settings and press Enter
    • Go to About Forerunner and press Enter

The software version is displayed here and 4.50 is the latest as of today.

Would any of you running 4.50 be willing to master reset your device, create a new activity on the watch, and sync with Garmin Express to your Connect account?: Master Reset Instructions Note: A master reset will clear the data from your watch.

HERNANDEZF, NEWCINC - Are you getting this error when trying to sync with Connect or when you try to add the Approach to Express? The Approach S4 is a mass-storage watch, so when you have it plugged into the Mac, it should appear as a "GARMIN" drive on the Desktop or in Finder. HERNANDEZF, do you have any other USB devices or an ANT stick plugged into your Mac when Express fails to find the watch?

    Sam
