Garmin express not working with 910xt - MacOs version

Hi,
I uninstalled Ant agent and plugin communicator, as here: https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7B2e141a50-04d8-11de-ffba-000000000000%7D
Garmin express found the Ant usb stick, but could not find my 910xt...
Any directions before I return to the good old method?

  • Last time I installed the download from Garmin it detected the update and installed it automagically. I suspect it needs to be updated to 3.X before it will work with the 910XT.
    Data is now stored locally. There are posts that tell you where, but it is now in the Garmin folder under Connect. If you can find your way there you'll see where the .fit files are.

    It does work fine with the 910XT as far as sending stuff to Garmin Connect. However, I suspect that it will not work the other way until you have the new Garmin Connect - Garmin Connect does not send data to my 910XT in its current 'old' state with GE. If you still need that, then would suggest you hold off moving from ANT Agent until you see the new GC.

  • Finally got this to work on my Mac with version 3.02. Which I found here: http://connect.garmin.com/en-US/start/.

    The default location here: http://software.garmin.com/en-US/express.htmlkept giving me an older version

    When I got it to recognize my 910, it wanted to upgrade it to 3.0 (even though it already was). I let it and now it's stopped bothering me.

    On the mac, the local file was here

    ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/GarminConnect/Unique_Device_ID/Upload/FIT_TYPE_4

    My GE, ver 3.1.4 says data connection required to link to my 910xt. I am at a loss as to how to do that...
    I've been resorting to Ant Agent for right now...

    Exactly the same problem for me. I've updated to 3.1.5 but GE still says it wants to update my 910XT with version 3.0 (which it already has) and can't connect when I try to update. I get the message "Device connection required. Please connect to computer." I've tried everything I know to no avail, so it's back to Ant Agent for the time being. Fed up of wasting precious training time on GE.

    GE doesn't work on Mac OS 10.9.2. even after uninstalling Garmin ANT agent.
    I uninstalled GE and reinstalled Garmin ANT agent, which now fails to download all data from the 910xt and fails to upload data to Garmin Connect.

    What needs to happen to fix this???

    it seems like garmin express is not ready for public use. Garmin, please remove this product until it is ready and stop using us as early QA testers.
  • Does not work either. Totally useless. This thread should be a warning as no help comes from it. Ant agent works great.
  • It does work with 10.9.2 - it's on 2 different Macs in this house with 2 different 910Xts

    Uninstall ANT Agent fully
    Install Garmin Express
    If GE shows your device is already connected (click on the word Device) remove it from GE, then add it and re-pair.
  • Thank you... thank you... thank you!!! I was wading through all of the complaints about using Express on a Mac and was just about to throw in the towel on trying to get it to work when I ran across your suggestion. All is well now.
