No Fenix 8 product image in Garmin Express on the Mac

Looks like the device_image.png is not downloaded from the device or Garmin.

How to obtain the image myself and place it in the right folder?

If you can't wait for Garmin to fix this it is possible to put the image of your choice with the background removed into a file named device_image.png in the Garmin Express folder for your device.

I have gotten weird device images in Express too. My Epix watch has three items, none of which are it, as its picture in Express. C'mon Garmin it's your own stuff.

This has been the case for several months now. Garmin Express does not load the watch icon correctly.

app: Garmin EXPRESS v7.27.0
OS: WINDOWS 11

In Garmin Express I only see generic icons for these newer devices:
- FENIX 8 (51mm AMOLED): the correct icon was there, but it changed to generic sometime around April
- FORERUNNER 970: just generic icon from the start
- HRM 600: just generic icon from the start

I have the other icons correctly: Dash Cam X310, EDGE 1050, EDGE 530, EPIX, EPIX PRO, FORERUNNER 265S, FORERUNNER 5S, VARIA RTL 510, VIVOACTIVE 4S

I have multiple computers (Windows 11) and unfortunately it's the same on all of them.

I did raise a case with Support back then, and since that time there's been no response. Just chased them now again...

Any update on this? I note version Garmin Express 7.28.0.0 has just been released and the issue still isn't resolved.

Also got the 7.28.0.0 update and still no icon. How difficult can this be to resolve ... ?

I installed 7.28 and added my Forerunner 970 it is showing the generic icon of an historic Edge, a 920XT, and a slightly newer forerunner.

On my computer in the Mac file system the following file should exist, but it is missing:

Library/Application Support/Garmin/Express/RegisteredDevices/<Unit ID>/device_image.png

where <Unit ID> is the 10-digit number that can be found on the first page of Settings->System->About.

In all the other subfolders of .../RegisterDevices/ there is the correct image of the registered device.
