My My Forerunner 165 watch is having trouble communicating with Garmin Express in a Mac environment.

I have a MacBook Pro M3 and the Rosetta 2 program does not work, so when I connect the watch, the Garmin Express application crashes and says there is an error. Analyzing the Mac error report with ChatGPT tells me this: The problem seems to be related to running Garmin Express under Rosetta 2 and possible conflicts with USB drivers (libusb). I recommend updating Garmin Express, checking for native Apple Silicon support, and reinstalling the application, removing any previous settings. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Garmin technical support to see if they have released an update that is compatible with MacOS 15.3 and M3 chipsets.

  • Looks like the problem is with Garmin Express running through Rosetta 2 and possibly some USB driver conflicts. Try updating Garmin Express, see if there’s any Apple Silicon support, and reinstall the app while clearing any old settings.
