Garmin Express Mac has lost the ability to sync music.

Express version 7.23.0.0, Mac OS 15.0, FR265 version 20,29

Symptom: Express loses comms with the the 265 after 'music' tab is pressed (Please plug in your device error). It is not a bad connection as other portions/syncing function normally. Everything works as it should on a PC. Multiple cables have been tried, as has a factory reset on the watch.

Express has been uninstalled and reinstalled.

I have run out of ideas.

  • same for me: commander one pro works as a workaround.

I tried everything, also created a new account on my mac

  • Yep, first time user. same fundamental issue. MacOS, fully up to date. 165 Music brand new, software updated. Garmin Express software has no trouble syncing until I try to go into Music to begin enjoying this feature (which was one of the primary reasons for purchase!); then the connection with the watch goes, meaning the computer can't find it even though it's still plugged in via USB. Very very frustrating. And not encouragining!

  • I think I've seen this suggestion somewhere else on the forum: simply uninstall Garmin Express and install an old version that doesn't have this bug. Worked for me.

Old versions can be found here: https://garmin-express.de.uptodown.com/mac/versions

    Version 7.19 works for me.

I contacted Garmin support for help but they fail to acknowledge there's a bug in the latest version of their software. Hopeless...

  • Today, the latest version for MacOS (v7.24.0) was available for download.
I was able to successfully sync music with it.
