sync 810 to garmin express mac desktop

Hi I'm running Mac OSX 12.7.6

I have a ride from a day ago I'm trying to sync to the app. I have manually added the activity to Strava but it just won't upload to GE.

Today's ride uploaded immediately. 

Any advice? I'd appreciate some thanks!

    BTW I've got the 810 plugged into my mac now, and of course it's reading like a drive. I've never connected it to my computer so i'm a bit of a joob but I get how it works. Can't see the ride in the files section on the device.

    Syncing activities is through https://connect.garmin.com/ or the Garmin Connect app.

    Are you using an Edge 810?

    In that case you don’t actually need Garmin Express to get your ride on Strava. Pair the Edge 810 to your phone with the Garmin Connect app. The activities on your Edge will then sync to Garmin Connect. In Strava you can link your Strava account with Garmin Connect. This will result in your activities being synced to Strava via Garmin Connect.

    If you don’t use or pair your phone you can still sync to Strava, just setup a Garmin Connect account and link your Strava account to it. If you sync your Edge with Garmin Express the activities will also end up at Strava via Garmin Connect.
