How to upload map onto Fenix 5x?

Help! I have a garmin fenix 5x - I recently purchased a garmin map. How do I load the map onto my watch. I am using a Mac. Thanks

The map you purchased is not an official Garmin supplied map, but from a third party provider. Refer to the seller’s site for instructions on how to install those maps. Only maps purchased on garmin.com…

Which Garmin map? If it's one designed to be installed on your Fenix it should show when you connect your watch to Express.

I purchased a garmin map from Garmin. Not sure how to transfer it from the Mac to the watch. Thank you

You can install the purchased map with Garmin Express, see instructions at https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=iqtD7IV1kL9Vw5QsSkGst6.

Make sure you purchased the map on the same Garmin account that you use in Garmin Express, otherwise Express won’t show your purchase.

Thank you. Yes it was the same account. But it never showed up on garmin express as a purchased map

What map did you purchase? And is the map compatible with your Fenix watch?

Hello - I checked and it is compatible with my Fenix 5x. This is a Nepal topo map.

Is this a Garmin supplied map? I can't find it on the official Garmin site which would explain why Express can't help you.

Can you provide a link to the map you purchased? As far as I can tell Garmin only sells a TOPO Light Himalayas map, is that the one you purchased?

Hi. I bought a Sri Lanka specific map

https://www.garminworldmaps.com/home/ and it did say it supports fenix. I did see a note that from. Mac OS 11.7 and older so perhaps that was the reason.

my work around was to add in directly to the watch. The map file and that seems to work
