Garmin Express Time Zone Map Update Failure

Using the current Garmin Express (for Mac version 7.20.0.0) the software, Express offers to update the timezone map on two different devices without success claiming there was an error installing the update (e.g. D2 Delta and D2 Delta PX). I followed all of the online help / suggestions including reinstalling Express without success.

More detail. Tried updating through Connect on an iPhone, which claims to have updated the D2 Delta. Back on Express now it shows downloading the file and updating, showing update complete in green. Just to sync and show the update again.

This all with the most recent version of Express for Mac 7.20.0.0. My take is that a bug was introduced into this version.

Thoughts?

  • Garmin Express on Mac has always had issues for me where an update is offered even though it already has been installed. Reconnecting the device does not help. Also happens with Connect IQ apps. Garmin Express on Windows does not show this behavior. Applies to both my Edge 1040 and GPSMAP 67.
