Some files could not be uploaded error - fix doesn't work ... any advice?

Got the error pictured below in screenshot just after updating Garmin Express this morning after being prompted to do so. The watch is a 965 I've had for a week and has been syncing just fine.

Doesn't work because there is no FIT_TYPE_4 subfolder in the PendingSyncUploads folder. And the error won't go away.

Any pointers/advice/similar experience?

UPDATE: after resetting the watch using the 15 sec press, I am getting a different error: "There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect" as per second screenshot. Deep joy, takes me back to when this used to happen regularly a few years ago ...

UPDATE 2: and now getting a new error: "Some files could not be sent to your device." with "install-app" (Transfer Error)" in the dialogue box, as per the third screenshot below.

Hi,

this error occurs to me only using the lìast version of Garmin Express 7.17.

I just recovered the old version on my mac using time machine and no error at all.

Is it a bug of Garmin Express?

Recover previous version with Time Machine. Good idea which I should have thought of. Thanks!

... except that I had previously excluded from time machine backup the applications folder thinking, well, applications can be re-downloaded, so save space for data. Needless to say I have now included the applications folder in routine time machine back-ups as a defence against Garmin Express new versions that are buggy ...

getting similar errors on my EPIX 2. won't update or sync without errors. anyway to get a copy of version 7.16 for MAC? i sent this to to the garmin software team via email this am, no response yet

Yes - same error after updating to Garmin Express 7.17. Clearly a bug in the Garmin software. Dissapointing.

I have the same error with 7.17. Syncs okay with Connect IOS app on phone.

I have the same problem with Garmin Express Mac version 7.17.0.0 and my fenix 6X Sapphire. My Edge 1030 Plus doesn't have the problem. So we all wait till Garmin releases a fixed version.
