Is Garmin going to provide support (software update) for Macbook M1 chips?

None of my Garmin products can connect to my new macbook running the M1 chip. Please fix this as I need my Garmin products to connect for my job.

  • I have no issue with my M1 MacBook Air and my Garmin.

    Make sure you're using v7.15.0.0

Try different cables, ensuring they're designed to handle data.

Some people have had success using a USB hub to connect to M1 Macs.

  • Just got an iMac mini M1 and have no problems connecting watches and accessing files. What specific devices are you having problems with?

That said it is about time Garmin updated Garmin Express to run natively with the M1 chip without needing Rosetta

  • Had a similar problem however now I have connected my zumo 590lm using the original cable (USB-a) on a USB 2.0 hub with a USB-a to USB-c adaptor to my 2022 MacBook Pro with M1 chip it is working fine. Basecamp was a bit clunky working on device maps but since I downloaded the maps onto my Mac it seems fine. A bit frustrating and bought a couple of different leads but looks as though the key is to make sure something in the link needs to be usb 2.0 to make it work.

  • I will purchase a usb 2.0 hub and give it a try. Thank you
