GARMIN 1030 connecting to Mac in file storage mode

When I open GARMIN connect with my Mac Pro to it rarely connects in a way that I can access the storage of my GARMIN device to add or delete maps. Is there a way to force the Mac or edge to view the files on the laptop?

  • In Garmin Express preferences, turn off Automatic launch…

    Quit Garmin Express completely.

Connect your device with a known working data cable.

The device should appear as a disk on your Mac, and you can browse/remove files.
