Garmin Express Stuck on Step 3 of 3, Updating Maps

I have a 660LM that I went to update this morning. It told me I didn't have enough space, so I replaced the 4gig card with a 16 gig (empty) card and pointed it towards the SD card for map installation. 

I've now been sitting at Step 3 of 3 for over 30 minutes and the bar hasn't changed, there's no projected timeline, there's no %, nada. 

I hesitate to disconnect it since I don't want to brick my Garmin. This thing is awesome.

    If still nothing its stuck so only option is to disconnect  and try again

    You won't brick your Garmin, Express was writing to your SD card. If something went really wrong, just remove the card.

    I killed the Garmin Express application and restarted it. It installed this time so I went for a drive. The good news is that it worked...the bad news is that it was off. By a lot. So I reinstalled the map with just the eastern 1/2 of the US selected so it wouldn't go to the SD card and it's back to its normal accuracy. 

    Not sure what to say but it's working again. Not like I travel west of Wisconsin anyway...
