Failed Data Sync

OK, I get that from time to time there's a sync failure on a device like this when connecting to the computer and software. What really bugs me is the convoluted solution for this problem. Why can't there be a more simplified way to resolve sync failures or delete bad files without having to dig down into a bunch of directories, then finding and placing a folder on the desktop (only to find you can delete it), then go to a webpage and browse to another directory and then upload files with a bunch of numbers that may or may not be the files in question. It's sorta outrageous this has to be so complicated with no explanation for why the files don't sync.

I went through this ridiculous process yesterday and after browsing the folder from the website and trying to upload the files in the directory I still got unable to upload files. Then to find a possible solution for the error message, guess what..off to yet another website on Garmin's site. It's CRAZY -- fix this! It's like a trip to the department of motor vehicles.

  • Hi , this is possibly a corrupt file is causing the failed data sync. If you zip the fit file then insert into your post, we can attempt to repair it. Depending on your Garmin device, backing up the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder then removing it from the device should help minimize future issues.
