Vivofit Not Synching with MacBook Pro

Hello everyone.

I am having significant issues with my Garmin Vivofits.

I currently have around 10 Garmin Vivofits attached to my MacBook Pro Garmin Express app as we use them for research purposes. I have always had lots of issues with downloading the data - where we should have three months of activity data, we only can download a few weeks and the rest of the days just say 0, or there are missing days/months etc. We just assumed that was part of using a device not built for research purposes and have made do.

That was fine - until recently, where I have found I can't sync any of the Vivofits at all. I am getting this error message "There was an error synching with Garmin Connect" EVERY time I try to sync any of the Garmin - even the ones I thought were working fine. I used to encounter this message regularly when synching but not constantly, and was still able to successfully get there in the end. It looks like there's some sort of communication error - the sync symbol will leave the screen of the Garmin before the app looks to be finished and I will receive the error.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Garmin Express app with no success. If possible it would be ideal if we could get around this issue without deleting the data we have already gotten off the devices.

Thanks.
