Camper 1090 MT-D device stuck on "updating" message following successful map update using Garmin Express on MacBook Pro

I have a new Camper 1090 MT-D. I used Garmin Express on my MacBook Pro to update with the latest maps of Europe. The update process ran and completed with no indication of any error. HOWEVER, my device is now stuck with an "updating" message ("a atualizar" in Portuguese). If I press the circle button, it does display the main menu, but as soon as I select any option that would bring up a map, it goes back to saying that it is updating. Back in Garmin Express, it says that I am all up-to-date. I tried to eject my device inside of Express, but that did nothing (ie, the green light stays on). Please help, my device is currently useless.

  • Run Express again and select the Reinstall map option, sounds like you've ended up with a corrupted map.

  • I tried what you suggested. Once again, the reinstall runs to the end and says it was successful. However, the device does just what I described above. First, there is a blank screen that says "Updating". I try to "Eject" the device but that does nothing. So, I unplug the device. Then, it displays a WHITE page that says "Installing Updates". I plug the device back in (so that it won't power off). After a few minutes, the device displays that it is going to power off.

Now here's the worst of it. When I plug the device back in, Garmin Express looks for map updates and displays the same maps. Seems no update actually gets applied.
