It has nothing to do, whether it's a new laptop. It is up to you to choose separate updates. If you choose to update everything at the same time. Crash.
Maybe I was doing it wrong but I am returning the MacBook so “problem solved” ;) thanks anyway.
I think what I was doing wrong is that I was not doing “control”+click on the Garmin icon, therefore the installation was not starting at all. I guess with that it should work (I have not tried it):
control + click on the garmin icon
select open
That should substitute step 4 (double click) in the instructions here: support.garmin.com/.../
Still does not work. Garmin's support for Mac OS has been on the decline anyway. Shameful. Anyway, thankfully I have an older Windows laptop for occasions like these - dealing with pitiful companies whose support for Macs are lacking. Work smoothly on Windows. :/
