Garmin Edge 200 not syncing or being discovered

Hi

I have a Garmin Edge 200. I have had this for many years and it has been very reliable. Over the last month when I hook it up to my PC and start Garmin Express, it says it has synced, but then I get a red box saying there is an issue with syncing. As it was loading the information onto Garmin Connect and Strava, i wasn't concerned. Then yesterday when I connected it, Garmin Express/Connect and Strava didn't discover the device - however it was charging from the PC so the cable was working. I also observed that unlike normal where I have the device turned off when I plug in and it stays off, when I connected it yesterday it automatically turned itself on. I can see on the device it has recorded my last ride yesterday, so it is still doing its job, I just can't upload the data.

Can you please provide advice on how to resolve this?

    Possibly a corrupt activity fit file on the device. Try a manual upload - How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

    If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. It is likely corrupt. Attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

    Hi, I got your message about uploading file in case it is corrupt, but I don't believe that is the issue, as I have done that and it loads ok into Garmin Connect. As mentioned above firstly i am getting an error syncing message in the red box, but also that my syncing is up-to-date, see image

    Secondly as of today it the Garmin Edge is not always being discovered (for example it took a number of goes for me to be able to download last file) - which makes me think it is a connection issue, except it automatically starts charging...so it doesn't make sense that it is undiscoverable.

    Check the cable. It is quite possible to charge without the data connection working.
