Ejecting Garmin fenix 6 Pro from MacBook Air

Hello,

I can't eject my fenix 6 Pro from my Macbook Air after using Garmin Express.  I have followed the online directions.  I went to Go, then Computer and the device isn't there.

I have been turning off my watch and computer and then taking out the USB.  Is this an ok way to do it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you,
Josh

  • You should not need to unmount it as you do with an external drive. It will not come up as a removable drive

  • Thank you. I’m curious why are there directions on the Internet on how to do it. I asked the same question in an email to Garmin. Their response was a the link on how to eject it.

  • Probably because older devices such as the 935 do mount to the Mac. New devices such as the F6 do not and therefore do not need to ejected. Just remove it from the cable.

For reference you will need to install Android File Transfer to access your F6.

  • yes mine was doing the same thing on my Mac Pro.  I even have an eject when I "right" click and if I click that it doesn't do anything.  One issue I have and was looking to see if you have is after I disconnect it from the cable the watch will give a "could not download maps" or something of that degree.

It hasn't effected any of my training nor how my watch works as I have noticed.
