Hi,
I have been trying to get my Edge 1030 Plus to update to the latest maps as prompted by Express (version 7.2.0.0 - latest as of this writing). I have tried over several weeks. The process is frustrating and extremely infuriating. Here are the problems:
1) extrem SLOW download speeds
2) the update FAILS to install
The download speed is on average 150kbps. Is this a joke? I let the device update over a few days only to see a red banner in GE stating that the map could not be installed!!! And no, I am not on a slow network. I have a 100 MBps connection both up and down. Realistic speeds of 75 MBps are what I usually get. Even these large files should take minutes to download not days. After numerous fails and with very unhelpful error messages I am giving up on updating this device. I've contacted Garmin support about a week ago. No answer. Oh man this is frustrating and makes me terribly unhappy.
Suffice to say that I've ordered the new Karoo 2 and will probably stick to to that one. Giving up on Garmin :(, very frustrating and painful process in this day and age ...
