Garmin Express does not work on Big Sur. I am using a Garmin cable connected to my Forerunner 220. What's up[? Will Garmin release an update. I can't even find GE on the Mac App store.

On a Mac you cannot access the Garmin files on the watch unless you have Android File Transfer installed.
You can connect to Garmin Express and do all the synchronizing etc without Android File Transfer…
I can't get my Edge 520 plus to be recognized on Big Sur by GE. My Varia RTL radar unit though does work, it is recognized as a demountable volume on Big Sur.
You might need Android File transfer.
Mine have always been in MTP mode. Never felt the need to change. Mine does not vibrate when connected but that might be because of my setttings.
Does you device work with Garmin Express?
Is Garmin Express fully closed down when you fire up Android File transfer? Garmin Express must be fully shut down, not just closed and active in the background, for AFT to work.
Here's my workflow for making my 945 work for my Mac Mini M1 Big Sur 11.1. I didn't install the android file thingy.
1) Go to the watch's setting: System>USB mode> and select 'MTP'
2) Open Garmin Express on the Mac
3) Connect the watch to the Mac's USB
4) Wait 20 seconds. Really wait. GE will then show that it's connected with the watch.
5) Sync away

They are two different processes.
I've been using Garmin watches perfectly with my MacBook Pro for four years (until this week!!). Why do you need the AFT?
So I can transfer my own maps and add files to my Watch and music files also. Until this week has your watch stopped working. I have been reading that AFT works fine on windows flatworms but they have changed the file structure in IOS and does not work with Big Sur
I'm still not understanding the need for AFT, unless I am being a bit stoopid which is highly likely :). My 6x and MacBook have worked together fine for 4 years without AFT
Garmin Expres does work with Big Sur 11.2.3 but the Mac crashes very often since I installed GE (this never happen usually, my Mac never crashes)
I'm on11.2.3 with GE 7.4.1.0 and my MacBook Pro doesn't crash
I have a Mac on Big Sur 11.2.3 My Garmin 520 Plus does not detect, screen flashes intermittently. My forerunner connects fine. Cables all tested on friends Windows device and working fine. Any idea on a fix?
