How do I install beta software version 4.04 to forerunner 945

Beta version 4.04 is available with enables direct connection to Zwift for heart rate, pace, and cadence. Directions say to put the GUPDAT.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder on my device internal storage drive. Not sure what that means? I am using Garmin express on my MacBook Pro and am connected via USB cable. Cannot find that folder on my MacBook Pro.

To access files and folders on your 945 on a Mac you need to download and install Android File Transfer.

Once installed make sure Garmin Express is properly shutdown and connect your watch…

It's the Garmin folder on your Device, not your MacBook Pro.

Yea I guess the problem I'm having is that my 945 is not showing up in the finder window. Can I get to my watches file structure through garmin express or garmin connect? No obvious to me since I have never manually downloaded and installed a software update. Thanks for responding.

Thanks for the great links. Unfortunately I am still unable to see it in the finder menu. My wife's VivoActive does show up and displays the Garmin folder. Obviously a bug with this watch and the OS version I am using (10.14.6). Thanks

Just an update your your information. The FR 945 cannot be recognized by a mac because of the file transfer protcol used by the watches operating system (according to garmin support). Have to use a PC.

To access files and folders on your 945 on a Mac you need to download and install Android File Transfer.

Once installed make sure Garmin Express is properly shutdown and connect your watch to your Mac. You'll then see the files and folders just as you would in a Windows PC.
