Garmin Express ver 6.14.0.0 still facing map update failure

I was hoping that 5/22/2019 update to Garmin Express will resolve the inability of Express to update my maps over the last 1-2 weeks. Alas no luck there. repeated attempts to update the map fail to cross that 33% mark. 

Another Express update with a more reliable installer needed. 

  •  I usually have no progress for more than an hour then I get a failure message. Again this happens repeatedly. If I reach 40% I would be more encouraged that there is slow progress but that doesn't happen.

  • attempted to download the maps from a windows PC on a different network, Some issue. same error message. 

  • What device? I've had this problem in the past with a watch. I connected to my Mac and moved all the map files to my computer. Had to use Android File Transfer to do it.  I then deleted all the map files from the watch and made sure the trash was emptied. Opened up GE, synched and the maps were all updated.

  • Facing it with both Garmin Edge 820 and Fenix 5 Plus. Which maps files have you removed? All of them or the add on ones you installed? 

    The problem doesn't appear to be stemming from the device. It appears to be coming from the download side. Having said that I did download germany maps on both devices. I can remove that and see what happens if the failure continues. 

  • Maps deleted. download failed. I am unclear if this is a general issue or purely applicable to me. 

  • I took them all off. I did neglect to say that I shut down the watch afterwards (long press of power button until it shut off), then restarted. Not sure if that made a difference.

    Are you communicating with Garmin Support?

  • The same problem on my system.
    It doesn't matter if I try to update a Fenix 5+, a Forerunner 945 or an old etrex35. 

    I get no progress at all and it will fail. On my windows machine, everything is working fine.

  • I succeeded in updating all my devices. I had a mesh WiFi system. I had to shut that down and directly connect to the U-verse router and had no issues updating. 

    Looks like any transient loss in connection will halt and fail the download. Given a 7 gigs download Express should be more robust and forgiving. The problem is with any failure the whole process had to repeat. Garmin should be able to resolve this issue.
