I can't do anything with my new eTrex 20 on my Mac (Macbook Pro OS version 10.14.3 (18D109), Mojave), I think because the disks are set to read-only (per "You can only read" in Info). Main disk is MS-DOS (FAT32), microSDHC 32 GB card is also MS-DOS (FAT32). I've tried everything, including uninstalling all the software and reinstalling, deleting library cache folders, resetting pram, and using disk repair in the Disk Utility. Volume permissions in terminal look like "drwxrwxrwx@". Can't sudo write to the disks in terminal either. I'm about at the end of my rope. Any suggestions?
Never mind. Per the answer in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250042732, turns out company policy on the Mac I'm using prohibits external drives per security policy. Which I understand and agree with, and knew they were instituting this policy a while back, I just forgot about it, and didn't realize that was what was going on. Wish there were a better message like "You can only read per global settings".
And now I have to figure out what I can do with the eTrex with my Linux laptop. Ugh.
