500 server error while trying to log in / add a device

Hi, i am running a iMac 5K with Mojave (10.14.3) and have the latest Express 6.12. (which autoupdated after I installed a old 6.11 version for a try)
I needed to exchange a device Vivosport because of a RMA replacement.
But as soon as I try to add the device and click on the "login" button I used to get a screen to enter userid and password.
now I only get e screen "500 server error"
Syncronising the already known "installed" devices worked, even updating maps worked (until I did the next step)

I followed the tips about complete deinstall, removing the plist (prefs, app. support, cache) emptying trash and rebooting

no success, now I have no devices and can not add any new ones :-(

trying to do the same with a WIN10 machine on the same network worked without problems.
  • Has Garmin acknowledged this at all? Connect on my phone has claimed it was sending a software update to my Fenix 3HR for over an hour now with no progress, so I went to try and do the update with my Mac and it's completely broken. Says I have to connect it to my account in order to sync, but what I assume should be a login page is just 500 server error.

    Same prob here. Just updated Express, and running MacOS Sierra 10.12.6. Trying to log in to Connect via Express and the 500 error. Very frustrating.

    I'm having the same issue. Have just had to get a replacement Fenix 5S Plus device. Never had issues with Garmin Express on my Mac until yesterday. It recognises the device but as soon as I got to login to add it, I get 500 Server Error. So can't download Spotify or several other widgets as Garmin Connect is telling me I need to login to Express to update the device software. SO frustrating. Just hope Garmin fix it soon.

    Same issue here.
    I've tried the uninstall and reinstall too
    I've tried also changing the Safari settings
    Still getting Error 500.

    exact same issue here adding a Fenix5+, won't allow me login to add it
  • Same issue, Fenix 5x Plus, Garmin Express 6.12.0.0, MacOS Mojave

    To save others some time, here are things I've tried that didn't work:

    1. Full uninstall as per Garmin
    2. Reinstall of 6.12.0.0
    3. Repeat uninstall
    4. Install of 6.5.1.0 obtained from uptodown
    5. Update to 6.12.0.0
    6. Change Authentication Domain to Canada, restart
    7. Change Auth Domain back, restart
    8. VPN at the Auth Servers from Canada, Ireland
    9. Used the old Web Updater tool - which recognized the 5x+ but then threw a 'source file corrupt' error on update
    10. Burned incense. Sacrificed a chicken.
    11. Tried many of the above steps again, interspersed with multiple reboots.

    Giving up now - I suppose they will fix it when the MARC buyers start complaining.

    Garmin Express v6.12

    (and, while I'm here, the F5+ battery life is useless. If I'd wanted to recharge every day I would have bought an Apple Watch.)

    Called Garmin Support. They told me their server is working fine from their end and asked me to send them the most recent Garmin Express logs from folder ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Express/Logs. Apparently I'll get a ticket number once I've sent them those files...

    Here's what I tried
    1. Deleted both devices and tried to add again
    2. Fully uninstalled and re-installed Garmin Express
    3. Checked all potential issues I could find in the forums (https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?fa...4s2S0wfUYR2QY9 and https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?fa...I02dC0ULxHR2T6), including

    I get a Server error 500 when I try to add the device and click log-in

    I have no problems adding the 2 devices on my spouse's Windows 10 laptop (but don't want to use her laptop all the time).
  • Only received my watch yesterday.
    I have the same issue. My Sat Nav works fine with Express, even updated a small file for it whilst I was there.

    Not impressed, I can't update my 5X plus from 3.20.
    Also found that when I use the Torch it freezes and I loose my step count for the day.

    Do Garmin view these forums or do I need to contact them?
