Issue updating BMW Navigator VI

When trying to update maps for my Navigator VI (as indicated in the Garmin Express app for map version 2019.11), I keep getting update failures. I'm running Garmin Express v6.3.0 and my iMac is running OSX 10.3.4. I'm also unable to update maps on my computer as well. What's going on? I've never had this problem before. I tried the update on my MacBook Air (also running OSX 10.3.4) with the same issues. I did see one dialog box about the fact that the applications I've trying to update are 32bit which are no friendly with 64bit requirements of the OSX.
Does anybody have a possible work around for this?
Many thanks!
Peter
  • I assume you mean 10.13.4, not 10.3.4 (which would be about 14 years old). Though this may not apply because you tried it on 2 machines, I have found that a partial, unsuccessful download will "clog" the system and sometimes prevent a subsequent attempt. So go into your ~/Library/Application Support/Garmin folder and find where the Garmin maps are and see if any partial downloads are lurking there.

Same problems here. I have Windows 10 latest build with GE 7.0.1.0 and did start the installation now the 3rd time. Maybe it is a good idea to have it running without any other applications open or working .. in my case it stopped at around 60% twice. Now, after rebooting and letting GE active only it seems to work. What it does not like at all is to have VPN activated. So for the time the update is going on I have stopped my VPN secure connectivity. As I am writing, the installation now progressed to 72.6% ... so I hope this time I will make it through. My recommendation: keep on trying :)
