How do I recover 15 GB of hard drive space after installing nevi update

So, How do I recover 15 GB of hard drive space after installing nuvi update?

I had 45 GB of hard drive space on my MacBook Air before installing my nuvi maps update. I now have only 31 GB. I used Express to update my 2589 LMT. I checked the item that said to install only to my device. Device is updated, and my MacBook is out almost 15 GB of hard drive space! I've emptied the trash, uninstalled Express, deleted the maps file from library/application support/garmin.

This is ridiculous. I want my hard drive space back! I have a SSD drive with limited space.

Please help.

  • Not sure where they are stored on a Mac but try searching for recent files that have been installed. It should be obvious which are the Garmin ones.

Some folks suggest the location is /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Garmin/Express.
  • You are exactly correct with the path in the user library. I did check that: in fact, Garmin support told me that if I deleted the Express app, I'd get all my space back. I deleted it, and the 15 GB is still gone. I then went to that path and deleted everything in the Express folder. No luck. Still missing 10 GB.

  • Do a search for recently installed files then. It's possible it has nothing to do with map files.
