Why "Not for use with dial-up, mobile or satellite connections"?

I recently purchased a VivoFit3 activity tracker and would like to use my Mac laptop to upload my activity data to my Garmin account. The 'getting started' page says I need to purchase an ANT stick to use a computer to sync and to install Garmin Express (GE). However, the system requirements for GE say it is "Not for use with dial-up, mobile or satellite connections."

I have satellite internet. So I'm wondering why they say it's not for satellite connections.

Is it just that it will be slow or not very responsive? (I just need to upload step data for participation in a corporate wellness program, so I could tolerate it being slow.) Or is there some other reason it won't work over a satellite internet connection? I'd rather not spend the money to buy an ANT stick until I know I'll be able to use it.

Does anyone have insight into why they say Garmin Express is not for use with satellite internet connections?
