I've seen the same thing happen with some of my devices too ... eventually the software displays the correct image.
Not sure what is causing the problem ... could be a network problem.
Actually, now that I think about it, it could be a SSL issue ... sometimes I launch Garmin Express at my office, and they have some funky firewall problems that sometimes causes links to garmin's CDN to have invalid SSL certificates. The image that we're seeing may be the default one if GE can't load the correct one from the web.
