Express: There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers

Since the last garmin express update (5.5.1.0) I lost my forerunner in Garmin Express. Running osX Yosimity 10.10.5

When I try to re-add my forerunner it is detected, but then wants me to logon to Garmin Connect/Express which gives me the following error when I provide the right credentials:

There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers


I have tried this from other internet connections but this gave me the same problems. I read in other topics that this happens with older express clients, but I just reinstalled the client and have the same issue.

    Yep, i've got the same problem. My Mac finds my Forerunner, but when i go to sign in to 'Sync with Garmin Connect' i get the following error:

    There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers.
    We're unable to sign you in because our servers are unavailable at this time

    Been like this for the last 24 hours now...
  • Various threads below on this with numerous solutions, no one size fits all as it only happens to a small number of users. If the tips in the threads don't help try calling Garmin Support.

    Thanks, i've tried all the steps, but still nothing. I'm trying to add my Forerunner 305, but it just wont let me sign in. I can add other devices, but not the 305 - so looks like the problem is at the Garmin API end of things.
