Garmin Express and Mac Do Not Detect 750XT

As of last night (April 27) when I plug in my 750XT neither the Mac or Garmin Express can detect or see the watch. Oddly it worked last night the first time I plugged it into the Mac and I downloaded to Connect. But then when I plugged it back in a little later the same night to do an update it wouldn't work. The cable seems to be working as it has charged the watch. It does not appear as a drive on the Mac or in Finder. My old Forerunner 220 was recognized by the Mac, and could sync. But Express did not show it as connected. If I click sync it just searches constantly. I tired plugging it into my other Mac and it also failed to see the watch. So what's wrong and how to fix it?
  • Just as an update I bought a new cable (Garmin original). Cost a fortune as I had to order form the states as it seems impossible to find in Canada. Anyway, new cable did not help. So not the cable. And yes, everything is up to date. Express and Mac. Charges fine. Just no connection for transfering data. Might be the watch. 735XT is less than a year old.
  • Have you tried cleaning the contact pins on the base of the FR735XT?
  • Yes I have. Nothing. Charges OK. Just no conectivity. Tried it on a PC and it also could not connect.
  • There was another thread with a similar issue in the 735XT forum and one workaround was to turn off the watch (power down) and then connect it. When this is done it will sync. It has worked for me so far.

This is OK as a workaround, but it is not a solution. It is a relief as I thought there was something wrong with the watch. I feel that it is the 7.20 update that has been the source of the issue.

Your suggestion .If the Mac is detecting your card but Express isn't, try restarting your Mac.
